One of the biggest hits to come out of Glashütte for 2017 is without a doubt the Club Campus, a new affordable Club with a funky California-style dial.
The Club Campus was introduced at BaselWorld 2017. It is the new entry-level NOMOS collection. It features a ‘California’ style dial, mixing Roman and Arabic numerals. Paired with the subtle dashes of color, this gives the collection a playful look. On the other hand, the the hand-wound, in-house Alpha movement ensure proper horological streed cred.
The Club Campus comes in three configurations: one in 36mm, and two in 38.5mm, all featuring a closed caseback. The smaller version comes with a silver dial exclusively, while a choice of either silver or dark grey is offered for the larger model. Technically, the 36mm is identical to my beloved 701, while a 38.5mm powered by the Alpha movement was not available before as a standard production model. All come with an optional complementary case back engraving.
On a personal note: I love these and I wouldn’t mind owning one of these next to my 701. I suppose the most sensible choice would be the Campus 38 Nacht, as it is different in both case size and dial color. But then again, I love the subtle 36mm case… NOMOS, can we have a 36 Nacht soon please?
